Festive Décor with Antoinette Lawless
This December, Rutherford Marketplace is celebrating Sweet on Community with a series of activities that bring creativity, connection and festive inspiration to your local area.
We’re pleased to welcome Antoinette Lawless, artist and founder of Antoinette Artspace, for two pop-up sessions. Known for her unique blend of art, fashion and lifestyle, Antoinette brings a fresh, thoughtful approach to festive decorating. With a background in creative design and a passion for sustainable living, she will be demonstrating décor ideas inspired by circular economy principles.

Maitland City Brass Band
Live at Rutherford Marketplace
As part of our Sweet on Community celebrations this December, we’re delighted to welcome the Maitland City Brass Band to Rutherford Marketplace on 13 December from 11am-1pm, outside Woolworths.
With 22 members of all ages and experience levels, the Maitland City Brass Band is an inclusive, community-driven group that proudly performs across the Maitland and Hunter region.
Their music brings people together, creating a warm and uplifting atmosphere that reflects the spirit of the season.
Join us in the centre to enjoy a festive performance and show your support for a band that continues to make a meaningful contribution to our local community.
As we celebrate organisations and groups who help our community thrive, this performance is a wonderful reminder of what Sweet on Community is all about. Come along, say hello, and enjoy the music that makes Rutherford feel connected.
